Invented by MaxQ Technology, Q-CHILL™ Coldplates are used in thermal management applications for industries in renewable energy, wind turbines, high-speed rail, solar, electric vehicle, military, and large industrial drives. This innovative technology provides uniform cooling of power electronic devices from 30kW to 250kW. Manufactured using the friction stir welding (FSW) process to incorporate unique cooling structures, Q-CHILL™ Coldplates have great thermal performance with low pressure drops. Learn more about our liquid cooled coldplates;
Available as “off the shelf” products, our standard aluminum Q-CHILL™ coldplates meet standard IGBT power module footprints manufactured by Infineon, Semikron, Powerex, Mitsubishi Electric, and Fuji Electric. Our coldplates are compatible with standard cooling fluids used in most applications, including ethylene glycol and water solutions (EGW), dielectric fluids such as Flourinert™ and oils. Low pressure drops may be achieved with high thermal dissipation.
MaxQ Technology’s Q-CHILL™ Coldplates are now available for wind turbines, providing solutions for 500 kW to 4 MW power conversion applications. Our unique process allows uniform cooling of up to 18 large IGBT power modules.
Starting with your specifications, MaxQ Technology develops effective thermal management solutions, providing the best performance, reliability, and weight at the best possible price, including functional prototypes and support for global volume production needs with full ISO Quality Standards and Certifications.
Q-CHILL™ Coldplates can be developed to cool the following large power module packages:
